Juzu

Juzu is a singer, multi-instrumentalist, and filmmaker raised between Queens and Ecuador. His music blends indigenous Andean traditions with the raw energy of New York City.

Juzu’s songs are timeless and anthemic, moving fluidly between Latin pop, soul and rock en español. His diverse influences range from Natalia Lafourcade to The Beatles to the traditional music of the Andes.

Born Juan Antonio Ordóñez, Juzu is the son of Toño Ordóñez, a singer/songwriter who was active in the Ecuadorian music scene of the 1980’s and 90’s. He proudly carries on his family’s legacy with each new composition and performance, a connection made especially vivid when he plays the quena, a traditional Andean flute.
